OVERVIEW
As the Greenwich Alliance for Education enters its 20th year of impact, we look ahead with energy, optimism, and a renewed commitment to advancing student achievement with Greenwich Public Schools. Since 2006, the Alliance has invested over $5.6 million in initiatives that fund innovation, expand opportunities, and inspire educators. Today, we are poised to build on this strong foundation with a clear roadmap for growth, sustainability, and deeper community impact.
DRIVING THE FUTURE: OUR PRIORITIES
Our revised mission to advance student success by funding innovative programs that promote educational excellence and equitable opportunities for Greenwich public school students is the cornerstone of this plan. Guided by our values of excellence, integrity, collaboration, and joy, the Alliance will focus on three areas of opportunity: Programs, Communications & Development, and Talent.
STRENGTHENING PROGRAMS
AVID Expansion: At the heart of the Alliance, AVID will continue to grow as a signature initiative that spans a student’s journey from elementary through college and beyond. We will:
- Support the implementation of AVID at the elementary level, beginning with Hamilton Avenue School.
- Inspire AVID educators with opportunities to grow professionally through participation in conferences and training workshops.
- Create stronger connections with AVID alumni and include their voices in our work by launching an AVID Alumni Junior Board.
- Refine our AVID SUCCESS Scholarship Program to ensure long-term sustainability and impact for college students.
Post-Secondary Pathways: Recognizing that career landscapes are rapidly evolving, the Alliance will launch an Ad Hoc Post-Secondary Pathways Development Committee to explore new routes for students in high school, preparing them for success in a range of careers.
Program Innovation: Through refined Reaching Out Grants, sharper data collection, and strategic evaluation, we will invest in projects that reflect our priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
GROWING COMMUNITY AWARENESS & SUPPORT
20th Anniversary Celebration: In 2026, we will mark two decades of impact with a major community celebration that both honors our past and fuels the next phase of expansion.
Communications Refresh: A new website, enhanced school-based communications, and a comprehensive communications plan will increase visibility, ensuring that more families, educators, and community members understand and support our work.
Fundraising & Development: To sustain and expand initiatives, we will diversify our funding sources through a revitalized annual appeal campaign, new corporate and foundation partnerships, reestablishment of the Business Roundtable, and the creation of a planned giving program.
INVESTING IN TALENT & LEADERSHIP
Our board, staff, and volunteers are the Alliance’s greatest asset. We will strengthen this foundation by:
- Developing clear succession plans for board and staff leadership.
- Expanding board diversity, engagement, and training.
- Reviewing staffing structures and investing in capacity to ensure long term resilience.
- Enhancing volunteer opportunities to deepen community involvement.
A ROADMAP FOR GROWTH
This three year plan positions the Alliance for both stability and innovation. By FY2028, we envision:
- A thriving 20th Anniversary legacy campaign that elevates visibility and fuels future growth.
- A fully integrated K-12 AVID pipeline with active alumni engagement.
- Expanded student opportunities that include post secondary pathway options alongside college support.
- A stronger, more diverse board and staff team ready to guide the next chapter of the Alliance.
