It is essential for all students graduating high school to have a post secondary plan to be ready for their next steps in college or career.Ā
Our leading example began in 2008 at Greenwich High School. The Alliance initiated the AVID College Readiness Framework, designed to close the achievement gap and promote equity and access in education. We continue to promote the expansion of AVID because it is a proven success. 100% of AVID GHS graduates are accepted to a 2 or 4 year college or university.
College and career readiness also involves large investments in professional development opportunities for our teachers to elevate their teaching practice. This knowledge is shared with colleagues and students to prepare them for life after high school.
