K-Play at Hamilton Avenue School

Selected kindergarten students participate in an extended-day program that provides academic and social-emotional enrichment. Through targeted early interventions, K-Play builds strong literacy, numeracy, and learning skills.

Family Engagement

Parents are partners in learning, participating in an orientation and receiving ongoing resources and strategies to reinforce skills at home.

Data-Driven Instruction

Teachers regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs, helping children build confidence and achieve academic growth.

Kindergarten teachers and academic interventionists at Hamilton Avenue School see first-hand the positive impact K-Play has on students’ academic performance and social development.

K-Play was developed through Greenwich Alliance Reaching Out Grants (2023–2025), which gave Hamilton Avenue School teachers and administrators time to research, design, and launch this innovative kindergarten support program. Today, K-Play is fully funded by the Greenwich Public Schools budget.
